We bought this place as a holiday house and loved it so much we packed up in the city and moved down. Dont let google maps put you off. You have to see this place to know what I mean.
Whether you've dreamed of owning your own holiday home or just want to live like you're on holidays all the time then this is the house for you! McCrae Village is the best on the Peninsula. Here's why we love this place:
*Walk to the beach - 700 meters
*Walk to The Pavillion, The General Store, TLC & Trims (bars, restaurants & cafes)
*Walk to McCrae plaza (Coles, bottleshop, doctor, dentist, post office, bakery, gift shop & hairdresser)
*Avoid the shocking summer traffic on the Peninsula by ducking off the freeway at the last exit before it ends in a snail paced bottle neck!
*The block is just under 700sqm so you have lots of options including: sit back and relax and do nothing now - maybe later!; extend the house, put a holiday unit at the back and generate an income or subdivide and count the cash! Of course we recommend that you check with the council (as we did) to be sure of your options.
*The house has three bedrooms all with built in robes. They also have external canvas blinds which are fantastic in summer. When we had it as a holiday house we had the master with a king bed, the 2nd room with two sets of bunks and the third with a queen. We got rid of one of the bunks when we moved in to give the kids more space.
* The house has ducted heating
* The house has evaporative cooling - installed 2010
* The house has a dishwasher - installed 2012.
* The house didn't have a bath so we installed a little one to keep the kids happy
* Mowing takes 10 mins as we've mulched most of the front yard and half of the back.
* With our solar and it paid itself off in 3 years
* The hot water service blew up so we installed an instant gas unit in 2010 - never run out of hot water again!
* We installed the sauna to improve it's rentalbility (at least, that's how we justified the investment!)
*There are two living areas inside (The seperate lounge is currenlty the kids domain!)
*The floors are super easy to maintain being vinyl, carpet and tiles in the bath & kitchen. As the house is on a subfloor we assume you could take it all up and polish the boards if you want to bling it up!
*The house was internally painted in 2012 (except for the kids bedroom, bathroom and kitchen cupboards which we've just done.
*The front verandah is flooded with sun over winter (usually we have a couch out there but for 'marketing purposes' we were advised to declutter the place! As soon as it sells we'll put it back!
*The back yard is the outstanding feature of the property and why you must inpect to get a real sense of the place. There are 8+ fruit trees including nectarines, plums, an apricot and an apple that are currently bursting with beautiful blossoms. The boys play endlessly in the orchard; they call it 'the forest'!
*There is a self sustaining pond with aquatic plants and gold fish.
*There is a garden shed.
*There is a carport and another car space beyond a roller door (bit hard to explain - the agent calls it a tandem carport).
We're moving to NNSW to be closer to family and need to pool our finances in order to get what we want in that expensive market. Of course we'd like a million bucks for this house but I'm told you'll get it for less than half that so come and check it out! I've put this ad on as urgent as I'm going to look at realestate up north from Sept 18 - Oct 1 so I'd prefer to sell before the Auction on Oct 4 so I can secure a property before I come home.
